NEWS: Volkswagen Motorsport 1st WRC Win in Sweden

In case you had your head in a snow bank and missed it this weekend, VW Motorsport claimed their first ever WRC win at an epic and really close Rally Sweden, with the wastegate-chattering, high-yumping Polo R WRC. Huge congratulations to them and Sebastian Ogier for his first win for the team in the incredible Polo R WRC, fending off the world's greatest rally driver, Sebastian Loeb on his last WRC drive for Citroen for a while, heading off to GT racing. And Jari-Matti Latvala came in forth, narrowly missing out on a podium to a flying Mads Ostberg. It really can't be under stated what an achievement this win is for a brand new car, with a podium and win in the first two rounds and Ogier now top of the WRC table. Carols Sainz must have had a lot to do with this we're sure – helping to develop, manage and set-up the car.
You can catch up with all their news, images and video on Facebook.
What a season start! We can't wait for Rally Guanajuato Mexico 7th March now to see how the new VW copes away from the snow!
