Rockets go boom. That's why the launch pads are very far away from all the rest of the Cape Canaveral station

This Delta rocket was taking a GPS satellite for a ride, but it exploded. Lots of burnt up cars later... when 225 tons of rocket fueled flaming mess rained down... and they don't let cars park too close anymore.

But I get a kick out of the Flying Tigers shark toothed grin motif!

biggest waste of tax dollars I've heard of lately, the NASA moon buggy mk2

It that a Hang Ten Dart on the left? With Keystones no less!

It's been a magazine cover car, and featured on Top Gear, Season 16 episode 7 I think.

Why is it such a waste of money? At the cost of getting a pound of matter into space, just launching it off the planet, is very high. But the bottom line? No one is going back to the moon, this 8000 pound moneypit wouldn't drive well because it weighs so damn much, with such small tires, and the moon has light dust soil that looks to be a foot or so deep(from the 1972 lunar rover videos). How much did it cost? Four and a half million dollars. That was a stupid waste of money.
